I am a big fan of the Thermos Foogo food container and stainless straw sippy. I ordered two of these cups for my 14 month old son. We figured out that when he throws or drops the cup, the valve creates a suction in the lid that makes it so he cannot drink out of it (nor can my husband or I). The only way to fix the problem is unscrew the lid, take out the valve, and put the cup back together again. Obviously, this solution is completely impractical and we're not using this cup anymore.
I wish I would have listened to the reviews I read about the spout having a resevoir. It may be leak proof but the resevoir holds liquid after your child drinks that gets everywhere. I only use this for water now and thats only because I don't want it to be a complete waste of money. FYI, the next stage cup with the straws DO leak. These were poorly designed.
